In 2017, Western partnered with Armscor International to provide a canister-grade propellant for their innovative .22 TCM cartridge. Producing 2,000 fps at the muzzle with virtually no recoil, this accurate and fun little cartridge brings handgun performance to a new level for small game hunting and plinking. Accurate TCM also has a place with old favorites, with data for hunting loads in .357 Magnum, .41 Magnum and high-pressure .45 Colt cartridges.

I use this to load for my 22 TCM. I can’t comment on the loads but it appears to be the right powder for the TCM’s according to all of the loads I have looked at for the TCM

While the .22 TCM requires a slower burning pistol powder to generate adequate slide energy to cycle most conversion pistols. From a “clean sheet” I started with Ramshot Enforcer which is several rates faster than H110 and W296 – the two powders gauged to be closest to factory, both of which produce a huge fireball at the muzzle indicating incomplete combustion. Enforcer is fast enough to avoid the huge fireball, and it does produces good velocities, but after several thousand rounds of .22 TCM, .22 TCM9R, and 5.56×24 loaded, I knew a powder just a bit faster would be ideal for the 4-4.5″ pistols barrels. Enter Accurate Arms TCM powder. It’s listed about two-steps faster than Enforcer, yet two-steps slower than AA #7 which has proven to be ideal for the 5.7×28. This puts it right in the sweet spot for the .22 TCM “family” of cartridges. Grain structure is small, spherical grains that meter though my Redding 10X like miniature ball bearings which is to say, extremely accurately! Once I verify the measure by weight using a balance scale (no electronics for tiny bottleneck cartridges), the Redding 10X will meter TCM virtually spot on drop after drop! Granted the Redding 10X gets ample credit for being a superior device, but it couldn’t be so accurate without the fine grain structure designed from the outset for modern power measures. With TCM working maximum charges are about a grain lower than with Enforcer which doesn’t matter much with .22 TCM and TCM9R, but with 5.56×24 it leaves more room in the case. TCM works best with a moderate crimp to extend the time-pressure curve for best slide action.
